More Christmas post.

Following on from yesterday’s Christmas postbox cards, here are a few more similarly themed ones and there will be a final delivery of these just before Christmas!

This card below from Royal Mail, while it says “We’re all about this Christmas” is actually from Christmas 2008! Royal Mail did used to send a card like this to more or less every address in the U.K. but I have to say that I don’t recall seeing one arrive this year, possibly a bit of a financial cut-back? Has anybody else received a card/details of Christmas deliveries etc for this year in the post?

Centenary of First United Kingdom Aerial Post – 1st & 2nd issues.

I recently bought and was flicking through the 2012 edition of Stanley Gibbons Collect British Stamps when I noticed under the 2011 Centenary of First United Kingdom Aerial Post issue, there is a Miniature Sheet(SG MS3220) which I did know about.

but also mentioned are the very same four stamp designs from this sheet(SG 3216-213219) which are only available in the £9.99 Prestige (really a Premium) booklet.

These all cover the 1st issue while the 2nd issue comprises a 50p Windsor Castle stamp(SG 3221), first issued in this design in pre-decimal currency way back in 1955 then reissued with a decimal 50p value in the 2005 High Value castle stamps and now seeing the light of day for a third time in the Premium Book already mentioned.

This booklet does contain a lot of new stamps and that’s before I mention the 76p and 1st class gold definitive stamps so definitely a booklet worth getting your hands on now!
